Evaluation of New Building Systems

Possible outcomes

Stage
The building system is deemed not new  and is removed from the evaluation process

The building system is deemed new and worthy of in-depth assessment

The building system is deemed new but is nevertheless rejected out of hand

The process is terminated/frozen by the applicant

1. Preliminary evaluation

A “Concluding Opinion” and “Concluding Approval” are issued and the evaluation process ends

An “Initial Opinion” and a “Temporary Approval” are issued. Both documents are presented to the applicant upon ordering Stage III of the evaluation process

The building system is rejected

The process is terminated/frozen by the applicant

2. In-depth evaluation

The method is deemed worthy of a “Concluding Opinion” and a “Concluding Approval”. The evaluation process proceeds to Stage IV

A “Renewed Initial Opinion” and a “Renewed Temporary Approval” are issued. Both documents are presented to the applicant upon ordering a repeat follow-up (Stage III)

The method is rejected and the “Temporary Approval” is revoked

The process is terminated by the applicant and validity of the “Temporary Approval” or “Renewed Temporary Approval” is revoked

 

3.  Sampling-based follow-up

A “Concluding Opinion” and “Concluding Approval” are issued and the evaluation process ends
